Q&A: Virtual Styling Session

Trying an online bridal dress is indeed an adventurous yet nerve-wrecking experience; you may already mentally prep yourself that the style you have chosen may not suit you the best after you have tried it on. After receiving a few messages and inquiries from our brides-to-be who have mentioned their horror story of meeting with pushy sales and feeling reserved to have a stranger sizing them up, we have decided to expand our online storefront with a personal virtual styling appointment with our in-house stylist.

General Questions: 

What is a virtual appointment?

A virtual styling session starts with a simple questionnaire about your style and wedding plans, then selects her top three dress designs. During the scheduled Zoom call, an Afarose representative will literally showcase those dresses for you, pointing out details and taking notes on what you do and don’t love. You can dictate exactly what should be added or removed. Not to mention, you can also share the Zoom link with your family and friends so they can be part of your appointment. After the session, you can also expect a follow-up email of the notes and details you went over with the representative!

• What can you expect/get from this appointment (benefits):

Convenient/ time flexible:

You don’t need to spend your weekend dress shopping. Instead, your 1-hour lunch break at work will be a perfect time to schedule with us.

Privacy (one-on-one session):

Unlike an in-store experience, you can avoid feeling self-conscious about what other people see or hear.

No pushy sales:

We don’t have a commission or anything like that. All we care about is helping you to find the best dress. Our representatives are here for you to support and guide you to have a less hassle wedding shopping experience!

• How do I make an appointment:

Schedule Your Appointment:

Select your appointment type and time. Your virtual appointment will be held via Zoom screen share.

Fill Out Styling Profile:

Please answer a few questions and let us get to know you better. Our bridal experts will personalize your appointment.

Get Your Appointment Link:

Access your appointment link via email. You may share it with anyone who would like to join the virtual session.

Start Your Appointment:

Join the meeting room at your appointment time.

Get Shopping:

Find your look with our stylist. The stylist will guide you through the process, share some insights, and answer any questions.

• What should you do prior to the appointment (prep):

Complete your styling profile and select the three most-loved dresses, so our stylist can customize your session and get to know you better.

• What if I don’t know my body measurements?

If you have a tape measure, please check our tutorial and write down your measurement.

If you don’t have a tape measure:

-You may use a string to measure, then measure the string another time

-You may order one via Amazon, like this one

-You may order one via Afarose

*If you have your measurements but are not sure if you are doing them correctly: you may measure gain during a video session with our stylist.

• What if I will be late for a couple of minutes

We will wait for you for 10 minutes.

• What if I can't make it and would like to reschedule:

Cancel the appointment through the email confirmation, and then book another appointment via the booking page. 

• What happens next after the appointment:

We will send you an email, recap all the styles you like.

• Can I make multiple appointments:

We encourage you to attend your appointment first before you book the second one. Our goal is to make sure you get all the info you want in 30 minutes! If you have more questions after your first session, you are more than welcome to book another one.

• What if I don't feel comfortable showing my room at the back:

• What if I don't want to show my face:

You may close your camera if you are not comfortable. We, however, encourage you to join the face-to-face video chat for a better experience.

• Is this recorded?:

No, Afarose doesn’t record the video without your consent. If you wish to record the video, please let our stylist know in advance.

Join the Session:  

What if I want my mom/bestie/bridesmaid/ or even groom to join me?:

Not a problem; share the zoom link with them so that everyone can stay on the same page.

• What if I have children with me?:

If you would like to have your children (under 18) join the video session, please email your consent to our customer service team. We want to protect your children as you protect them.
