Getting accurate measurements is the best way to choose the right standard size or place a custom-size order. Please review the instructions below before measuring.
Important: Custom-size dresses are made according to the measurements you provide and are final sale. Custom sizing can help reduce the need for major alterations, but it does not guarantee a perfect fit. Minor alterations may still be needed depending on your body shape, posture, shoes, undergarments, and personal fit preference.
Note: For customized floor-length dresses, Afarose will add approximately 2 inches to the hollow-to-floor measurement to allow for heels.
Measurement tolerance: Because each dress is cut, sewn, and finished by hand, a measurement tolerance of approximately 0.5 to 1 inch may apply. This is normal for made-to-order garments and does not mean the item is defective.
*Note: For customized floor-length dresses, we will add approximately 2 inches to fit high heels.
Stand with your feet together. Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your hips and seat. Keep the tape level and parallel to the floor.
Stand straight with your feet together and barefoot. Measure from the hollow space between your collarbones straight down to the floor. Do not wear shoes while taking this measurement.
Stand straight and look forward. Relax your shoulders naturally. Measure across the back from the outer edge of one shoulder to the outer edge of the other shoulder, following the natural curve of your shoulders.
Place the measuring tape around the base of your neck where a collar would sit. Keep the tape comfortably snug against your skin, leaving enough room to breathe.
Let your arm rest naturally at your side. Measure around the fullest part of your upper arm. Keep the tape snug, but not tight. Do not flex your arm while measuring.
Measure from the base of your neck or shoulder point down to your natural waist. Keep the tape flat against your back and do not curve the tape away from the body.
Let your arm relax in a natural position with your elbow slightly bent. Measure from the top of your shoulder to your wrist, following the natural curve of your arm.
Stand straight with your feet together and barefoot. Measure from the top of your head straight down to the floor.
Stand straight and measure vertically from the hollow space between your collarbones to your natural waist. Your natural waist is usually the narrowest part of your waist, about one inch above your belly button.

Standard-size dresses are made according to the Afarose Size Chart. If your measurements do not match one size exactly, we recommend choosing the size that fits your largest measurement. Alterations may still be needed for the best fit.
Custom-size dresses are made using the measurements you provide. Custom sizing can help reduce the need for major alterations, but it does not guarantee a perfect fit. Minor alterations may still be needed depending on your body shape, posture, shoes, undergarments, and personal fit preference.
Custom-size dresses are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged.
