Wedding Day Timeline

Back List

Planning a well thought out wedding timeline may be the creation of a wedding that is stress-free and smooth. The reason that creating a wedding timeline is important is because by breaking down everything you would need to do allows you to give a better estimate of time between events. You wouldn’t want to finish the get-ready time at 11am but plan to be at the wedding entrance at 11am. You would want to give yourself some buffer time in between just in case you will be a bit late on time.

Here is a Wedding Timeline Block that can help you for all things planning

timeline

Getting Ready:

This is the time for the bride to get all glammed up by her makeup and hair artist. This is one of the most important times so do take your time or even start early so you can get your most glammed look.

Get Dressed:

Depending on the dress, if it is a traditional ball gown with a lot of buttons. This time frame can take the entire 15 minutes but if you are a bride who chooses a more modern sleek dress you can have your time cut a little.

Solo Portraits:

Yayyy! It’s finally time to take pictures with all this glam. You may wonder why this will need 45 minutes. But, trust us, the more time you give your wedding photographer you’ll have more stunning photos to receive and post on Instagram.

Wedding Party Photos:

Have your bridesmaids crew with you for this one! Also, don’t forget to include your family, in-laws, and kids too.

Guest Arrival:

Your guests will gradually come into the venue. Play some light-hearted music and maybe prepare some finger food as well.

Ceremony:

The length of the ceremony also depends on how formal it is. For modern elopements it may just take 15-20 mins but for traditional ceremonies it may take the whole hour.

Family Photo:

As the family photo includes both your and your partner’s family. It’s best to plan a timeline and order of the people that will be taking the photos. We don’t want family member go missing when it’s their turn to take the group photo or have family member have no clue whose turn it is to take a photo.

Cocktail Hour:

For cocktail hour, the most important things is the atmosphere, music and cocktails. Make sure to coordinate with the coordinator and vendors on the time where they can start warming up the venue. Who wants to enter a venue where the bartender is still prepping and the DJ hasn’t started playing music. *Imagine the awkwardness

Reception Begins:

Yayyy! The grand entrance for you and your partner. After a short introduction and a few words from both parents. You both can start your first dance as an official couple

Guest Dance:

After the heartwarming moment of both you and your partner dancing. It’s the time for guest to celebrate with you. Have your DJ play a few hit songs to hype up the dance floor.

Wedding Exist:

This is the very last moment for you to enjoy this big day. End this day with grand finishers such as fireworks!

After seeing this wedding time block, lets us introduce you to 3 different wedding time Check-in and setup usually begins on Thursday early afternoon. Check with your venue for the proper setup time

Early afternoon ceremony requires a fast-paced morning prep timeline. Arrange a few things (mani, pedi, waxing, etc.) on the day before the wedding day might be a good idea to keep the process smooth and easy

Begin your Friday ceremony in the evening or late afternoon may be a better idea to allow guests to get off their work

Save this wedding timeline guide if you are a bride who is stressing over all things wedding planning! Also, do tell us what time of the day you are planning to have your wedding! We sure do love a sunset wedding.
